In This City.

Happy Australia Day! Anyhow today has been an adventure. It all started trying to get to a train station… a seemingly simple task which was made a lot more difficult by being given the wrong directions by my navigator. This eventually led to us missing the earlier train meaning we had to wait for the next one - leaving the awkward situation of being late. You see I was meeting some friends in the city at Town Hall, more specifically the steps of town hall (a well know area for emos). After meeting these friends we proceeded to join in with the celebrations - this involved two men dancing. Scary I know, and no I wasn’t one of these men.

Two men dancing...

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side - it started to drizzle. Did I mention that one of the guys was wearing extremely short shorts, an Australian flag as a cape, and a singlet. Well he was. It was both scary and amazing at the same time - they were so incredibly short. He was also one of the ones dancing… I swear normally he’s normal enough (even if he isn’t normal he’s a funny funny guy).

As time goes on we walked and eventually came across one of those very Asian photo-booths. You know the brightly coloured things? All the instructions in foreign languages… Well that didn’t stop us, we managed to get six people in (unless I forgot someone when I counted that number). The photos look terrible though (I’m sorry sane world… these people, they change me - hence the bananas in pyjamas stamp on my hand and the ABC kids tattoo). Also for the very first time there will be a picture of me on my own blog. I expect i’ll only lose one or so readers…

One of the people there (who before today I’d never spoken to) had a knack for having his picture taken… in the rain… or in water… with another one of the group (the same one every time). This continued on throughout the day until eventually we decided to eat… it was four o’clock in the afternoon by that time though. Unfortunately this also signalled in the end of our day in the city (not at four… it was 6:40 or so by then). So it was time to head for the trains again.

We got on the train just fine only loosing one of our number (two if you include the other who left earlier still). As it went on another of our number had to leave, her station was imminent. You see she was paying attention as to when she had to get off - unlike the rest of us.

Yes.

We missed our stop.

We had to wait half an hour for another train back to our station. Oh and then we had to try and stop the rain-photo-fountain guy from trying to show us how he can do a back flip (being Ninja and all…) - you see I really didn’t want the day to end with an ambulance. Plus even though I have learnt CPR and some such before… I really didn’t want to practice it.

It was fun though.

And I swear someone was trying to get some… I’ll let you guess who though. Anyhow sorry if that bit offends - it shouldn’t. Hope everyone had a good Australia Day (even though this post wasn’t actually posted on Australia Day… it would have been if it wasn’t for my site screwing up).

Venus in Furs

I don’t really have anything specific I want to say in this post - so enjoy a ramble. Recently I’ve been playing a fun little game called World Of Goo. Its an ‘indie’ game with some pretty unique game play - I advise you to try the demo and if you like it buy the whole game for $20 (in USD) or so.

You can download the soundtrack for the game free (all 49 minutes or so of it) here. Anyhow its fun and addictive - I started playing and didn’t really stop till I’d finished the game (mind you I had to skip one or two ‘maps’ as they got too frustrating).

For all who its relevant too have a fun Australia day tomorrow. Hope you all have a good time.

Beware Wolf

Once upon a time, on a magical journey across lands one group of travellers met another group of travellers. They both hailed from the same country and formed a kind of friendship. In the few days that the two groups had known each other many experiences had been shared - such as kayaking through serenely calm waters, a picture perfect picnic on a small island beach - and embarrassingly some rather bad karaoke. As normally happens eventually their paths came to diverge.

As the two groups said goodbye one member could not help but think as the other group walked into the hustle and bustle of a foreign city that they would probably never see each other again. Only time would tell.

Funnily enough most of that is a true story - in a way. It’s funny how people can come and go in our lives (finishing school has really emphasised this for me). Still we have to make do with the time we have. All these people who have some small impact on who we become - for better or worse.

Anyhow, not much more to say - this is just something I wanted to write. Peace out (scrubs argh… it’s taken me over).

The Prayer.

Continuing my trend of getting titles from whatever I happen to be listening to here’s another brand spanking new post. Since my last post… I’ve been to Vietnam, had a great Christmas on the beautiful Halong Bay and spent new years eve in Nha Trang. I would show some pictures… but I haven’t even looked through all of them plus im paranoid about copyright/art theft (see ill prolly put some of these pics up on deviantART).

Whilst in Vietnam… I purchased several cheap movies and one box set of a particular TV show. Scrubs. Seasons 1-6, for around about $10 aud. Since getting back I’ve watched 2 whole seasons (46 or so episodes) in under a week. Yes alright im addicted, but really is it a bad thing?

See scrubs is really funny, plus it also chucks in a moral in most of the episodes. So in a way its a form of education - fills the whole that finishing school left. Speaking of school and all that jazz, in about seven days first round offers come out. You see that basically means ill effectively find out whether or not I get a placement in my desired university course. No it’s not medicine - or something in drama so no scrubs in real life for me.

I can always dream though.
