Today I saw the movie Up.

All in all - it was fantastic. For all of you who scoff at animations, who say they are for children… you have no idea. The movie was simply great, enjoyable for children and adults alike.

For me I found quite a few parts of the movie quite sad, it stirred memories for me. For those who have seen it you will know what the start of the movie was like. Just let me say here how is the beginning not sad? As I said the movie stirred memories for me - in this case it made me think of my Grandpa. Not that him and ‘Carl’ were that similar but still.

In other news I suggest you all go and watch Up - it sure is worth it.

Dr. Cox - Scrubs

Well recently I have been getting some traffic from search engines. You know a strange thing though… most of this traffic is due to the post I did about the watchmen movie.

See, people are searching for ’silk spectre and nite owl’, ’silk spectre and dr. manhattan’, ‘watchmen nudity’ and many more. See the nudity part comes up frequently in the searches as does ’sex scene’. Yes the movie does have nudity (mostly male) and it does have a couple of sex scenes. But seriously. You people need to get your heads out of the gutter- and if you want to see more full frontal blue man nudity interlaced with a few sex scenes… just go watch the movie again.

Oh and have a good Easter.

Hurrah for the long weekend! In the past public holidays didn’t really mean all that much to me. Things have changed now. A public holiday means I get a day off work. It can also mean a long weekend, I’m lucky in that this Easter I’m getting a five day weekend. All starting off with an outing with some friends.

As usual we went to the local ’shopping centre’, ate and watched a movie. The movie being ‘The Boat That Rocked’. As the title would suggest it didn’t just rock - it also tried to sail, got a hole and sank. So it’s not just a rocking boat it’s also a sinking, hole getting, sailing boat. Did I mention it also broadcasts a radio station that endangers the lives of fisherman?

Oh I almost forgot to mention. For all you desperate guys, the movie does instruct you… well I’ll let you find that bit out when you watch the movie.

Well just the other night I saw burn after reading… was good enough. It sure gave me an idea of what I don’t want to do with my life. My aspirations don’t include being an information analyst, some ‘treasury’ guy or a hardbodies gym staff (or even a Russian delegate). In case you haven’t realised by now this post will contain some spoilers of sorts… so if you don’t want the movie to be RUINED then stop reading. Now. Like right now. Seriously. Ok after this line.

You stopped yet? No. Ok im just gonna go ahead if you read a spoiler it’s your fault. Brad Pitt (as Chad Feldheimer) was an absolute idiot, this eventually lead to his death… ah well. Despite his idiocy I think he was pretty awesome, up till where he got shot in the head while hiding in a cupboard - with a suit that has no ID or tags. Sure scared George Clooney though.

Eventually the movie came to an end… the ending was funny but I felt just a little disappointed with it, there could have been more. I’ll leave you with these slightly modified last lines (only cause I can’t remember them all too well):

“What did we learn?”

“Uh”

“Not to do it again…”

“I don’t know what it is we did do though…”

The other night the film King Arthur was on TV. I was watching it like your average movie watcher and I started thinking… why is life always more spectacular in the films? Where are all those meaningful moments and beautiful people that are constantly plastered into the minds of anybody who watches a movie?

Well well, another blog. Seeing as yet again I have nothing really to write about I’ll tell the whole world about my friends 18th Birthday party. The party was meant to be a poker party - more specifically texas holdem. As you can probably guess it didn’t end out that way. In the whole night we played maybe four or so rounds… people kept on going all in.
