Well schoolies is over, on top of this ive also turned 18 – entering the official realms of adult hood. Go me. The main way this affects my life is the fact that I can now legally buy alcohol for myself… and watch R18+ movies. My actual birthday was on the last full day of shcoolies and it was quite a bit of fun (no I didn’t get hammered, reason 1 being that I had to drive the next day and reason 2 being I don’t think getting hammered would be all that fun).

In the absence of schoolies I have found myself rather bored at times. You see for 10 days or so ive been in an environment surrounded by friends where there is almost constantly some form of drama or fun going on – for example parties at night, doing stuff in the day. Also at night sometimes we’d go walking. Sounds kind of lame but trust me its not. Try walking around a foreign place with a group of friends after having some alcohol at night, its great fun (assuming you don’t get beaten to a pulp by a group of toolies). Luckily my friends and I avoided trouble, partially cause there was always one sober person and one of my friends has street smarts… and a danger sense. I wont go into the details of how it works, but ill assume it does by the fact that nothing bad happened.

On top of these random happenings I was a designated driver, out of my schoolies house we had two cars, three drivers. I was the only one allowed to drive my car. This was both good and bad, good in that I could get where I wanted, bad in that it didn’t let me drink at parties where i’d have to drive home + I had to drive others around… which can get a tad annoying sometimes. Also another fun thing – bonfires on the beach. Not too sure to the legality of this yet it is fun. Although one of them was a bit bad… especially when some locals where there and started to go looking for fuel sources (other than the couch they brought from their apartment). I wont go into details now but there’s a story there.
